Inside the Botanical Grimoire

Part 1: Botanical Register

Create an index of the plants in your grimoire. Record each plant’s name, its page number and useful keywords so you can find its full record when you need it.

Part 2: Botanical Correspondences

Build a reference to the plants you associate with:

• Lunar phases and special moons

• Sabbats and seasons

• Elements, planets and zodiac signs

• Deities, spirits, ancestors and archetypes

• Spellcraft intentions, including protection, love, grounding, divination and prosperity

Each table includes a printed heading and key themes, with space for you to add plants, their magickal purpose and the page number of their Botanical Record. Use your completed tables to choose plants for future spells and rituals.

Part 3: Botanical Record

Study each plant in more detail with paired Botanical Record and Grimoire Notes pages. Prompts give you space to record:

• Common and botanical names

• Where and when you found it, its habitat and growing conditions

• Appearance, scent, texture and parts used

• Folklore, traditional associations, magickal uses and correspondences

• Preparation methods and cautions

• Your observations, results and reflections

Return to your entries as you learn more, adding seasonal observations, further research and experiences from your own practice.

Part 4: Botanical Practices

Use the open pages to record your botanical spells, rituals, recipes, incense blends, oils, baths, charms and offerings. Note the plants you chose, how you prepared them, your intention and what you observed afterwards. Keep the details you want to repeat and note anything you would change.

Begin With the Plants You Know

You might start with rosemary from your garden, a flower you are researching or a herb you often use in spellcraft. The guided structure gives beginners a place to start and experienced witches a way to organise years of notes and practical knowledge.

Over time, your grimoire becomes a botanical record shaped by the witchcraft you actually practice.

Are the plant meanings and spells already written for me?

You add your own plant meanings, research and spells. The book provides introductory guidance, printed correspondence headings and themes, structured plant records and space for your workings.

Can I use it as a Book of Shadows?

Yes. It is designed to become your botanical Book of Shadows, keeping your plant research, folklore, correspondences and practical witchcraft together.

Can I record plants I grow or find locally?

Yes. The records include space for location, habitat, growing conditions and identifying details. Independently confirm a plant’s identity and safety before harvesting or using it.

Printing and Delivery

Each grimoire is printed to order and shipped directly from the printer. Please allow around three weeks for printing and delivery, with extra time during the busy period from late November through January. Timing varies by location.
